What workmanship coverage means

Standard cabinet painting work includes a one-year workmanship warranty. It addresses defects caused by ColorUp’s labor or application process under normal residential use. Coverage is not an automatic promise that every chip, crack, or finish change is warrantable. ColorUp reviews the affected area and confirms the cause before approving warranty service.

How the qualifying 2K coverage differs

When the 2K Hardening Agent Upgrade is selected and documented in the original proposal, workmanship coverage extends to two years. That qualifying upgrade also includes three-year coverage specifically for adhesion failure and coating durability failure attributable to ColorUp’s application process.

A project does not receive the longer coverage simply because a 2K product is discussed later. The upgrade must appear in the accepted project documents.

Examples that may qualify

After inspection, issues such as process-related peeling, cracking, chipping, bubbling, blistering, a finish that remains permanently soft after the expected cure period, or adhesion failure caused by inadequate preparation may qualify. The inspection determines whether the issue came from ColorUp’s process or from another cause.

Common causes outside warranty coverage

  • Impact, abrasion, dropped objects, pet damage, or ordinary wear.
  • Leaks, standing water, excessive moisture, steam, or heat exposure.
  • Wood movement, substrate failure, structural movement, warping, or cracking.
  • Misuse, improper cleaning, abrasive pads, harsh chemicals, oil soap, or silicone products.
  • Damage during the cure period or care that conflicts with the supplied maintenance guidance.
  • Work, adjustments, or repairs performed by another contractor or an unauthorized person.
  • Hidden defects, undisclosed treatments, normal aging, or color change from ultraviolet exposure.

How to report a concern

  1. Email info@colorupcabinets.com with “Warranty Claim” in the subject line within a reasonable time of noticing the issue.
  2. Include a full-area photo, close photos, the exact location, when you first noticed it, and any event that may have contributed.
  3. Do not sand, touch up, or have someone repair the area before ColorUp can inspect it. If immediate action is needed to prevent more damage, call first.

ColorUp acknowledges a complete written notice within five business days and coordinates the inspection. Eligibility and the appropriate remedy are determined after review. Approved warranty service is limited to the affected area as provided by the controlling policy.

The signed documents control

The warranty is issued to the original client, is not transferable, and cannot be changed by an oral statement. Read the Project Terms and Conditions together with the Warranty Policy attached to your accepted proposal. If this page ever differs from those documents, the accepted proposal and attached policy control.

Something needs attention?

Send the photos and details while the condition is easy to document. We will review the concern under the written policy.
