Schedule Guide
By ColorUp Cabinets · Updated September 30, 2026 · Greater Houston
ColorUp does not publish a universal countertop lead time. /facts/ and the service FAQ: the date is confirmed after material availability, slab approval, template, fabrication, site readiness, and trade coordination. Cabinet painting in the same project is its own timeline — most painting projects run about three to five days, confirmed in the proposal, with shop-finished doors and on-site boxes. The stone date is not “template + 5 business days” unless that proposal says so. Competitors who advertise 1–2 day installs are usually talking about set day, not the whole wait.

What has to happen before stone is set?
There is no public lead time. The written schedule is the date.
Painting in the same kitchen is its own window, most projects about three to five days. That is not a stone promise.
Ordered gates (not dated)
- Material direction and slab or sample approval
- Cabinets set, level, and stable enough to template
- Template captured (templating guide)
- Fabrication of that template (edges, cutouts, splash if scoped)
- Site ready: demo if scoped, sink on plan, paths clear, paint protected
- Install, then material-specific handoff
- If paint is in scope: door shop time, on-site boxes, use/cure guidance at handoff
Why “5–7 days from template” is not a ColorUp quote
Some Houston ads publish fixed business-day counts from template to installation. Those numbers usually assume the slab is already owned, the kitchen is empty and level, and nobody is waiting on finish work. A veined waterfall, a second slab, or a full-height splash changes fab time — without substituting a new ColorUp integer. Remnant or in-stock quartz can move faster than a mill-order exotic; still “confirmed in writing,” not “always next week.”
Paint before/after philosophy: sequence guide. Cure vs light use for coatings: kitchen use after painting — do not invent a stone “cure day” chart here.
What the homeowner feels in the house
Template visit, awkward kitchen days (limited water or cooktop if plumbing is open), and install day are different disruption categories — not an hour-by-hour. Plumbing disconnect only if project records include it. Painted cabinets need a protection plan during set. One-company accountability: one company paint and counters.
What to ask so two trades do not collide
- Which dates are slab approval, template, and install on this proposal?
- Are doors at the shop that week?
- Is demo of the old top in scope, and is the splash staying?
- Who reconnects the sink?
Kingwood 77345 is the brand home; doors typically shop-finished in Porter — no public street pin; NAP primary on hold. Founded 2021. Process overview: /our-process/.
No borrowed SLAs
ColorUp will not adopt competitor “5–7 business days,” “install in 1–2 days,” or “same week” language as a public promise. Your written schedule controls.

How long is cabinet painting in the same kitchen?
Typically three to five days; proposal controls. Cure is a different milestone.
Where is the work — Kingwood or Porter?
Brand home Kingwood 77345; doors shop-finished in Porter operationally; no street address published here.
One written schedule for finish and stone
ColorUp confirms countertop dates after material, template, fab, and site readiness — and keeps paint on its own three-to-five-day production window when both scopes are ours.
